Confessions of an "Idol" addict

It's corny, it's predictable, it's often ear-piercing, but many of us can't get enough of it. Yup, it's "American Idol." Season 8 of America's most-watched TV show is under way. Check this space for news, video clips and take-no-prisoners critiques. And your commentary is vital too!

"American Idol" Top 36, Group 3: Ju'Not Joyner gets a boost

Posted by Bob Payne

Ju'not Joyner sang "Hey There Delilah," by the Plain White T's.

This is a reprise of the only song we saw him sing during the Hollywood round. I think it's a gamble to do that. This time around it seems slowed down, and performed without as much energy. He's got a nice tone in his voice though. I'd like to see him try another song.

Randy - "Dude I loved it."
Kara - "I liked your spin on that song. Next time just let loose."
Paula - "The liberties that you took paid off."
Simon - "That was better than I thought it was going to be. It was a little bit safe."

And Ju'not admits getting a cortizone shot -- in his posterior -- before his performance. Aha! My comparison to horse racing is really coming true!

What do you think?
