Posted by Bob Payne
As we eagerly await the start of the "American Idol" Hollywood round tonight (8 p.m., Ch. 13), let's survey the latest "Idol" happenings:
• Did you happen to catch former Idol Jennifer Hudson singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday? Too bad it was lip-synched!
• Season 6 third-place finished Melinda Doolittle finally releases her first CD today, called "Coming Back To You." Early reviews are favorable. Read about the new CD here.
• Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta is making a string of radio-station appearances in Florida this week. A crowd of 300 turned out for an autograph signing in Gainsville, Fla., on Monday.
• Season 5 finalist Kellie Pickler will open for country sensation Taylor Swift on a national tour beginning April 23. The pair toured together last year as well, where they wrote songs together.
