Happy New Year, everybody! Here's a roundup of Idol tidbits from around the Web:
• Countdowners: Season 7 champ David Cook appeared on Fox TV's New Year's Eve show, singing "Light On." Meantime, runner-up David Archuleta performed two songs at a much smaller affair in Orem, Utah.
Bothell's own Blake Lewis (Season 6 runner-up) performed at the Snoqualmie Valley Casino on NYE. Here's a fan's notes from the event. No videos have yet surfaced on Youtube. If you were there, please leave a comment!
• Simon's Xanadu: According to this article, Idol judge Simon Cowell is set to build a $20 million mansion on the island of Barbados. "A source tells the UK's Daily Mirror newspaper, 'No expense will be spared - it will have installed all the latest gadgets and boys toys.'"
• Hicks as Teen Angel: Chicagotribune.com interviews Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks who leads the touring production of "Grease" into the windy city next week. You'll have to wait until May 12 to see the show in Seattle, though, when it opens its run at the 5th Avenue Theatre.
