Win or lose, Tom Douglas is an outstanding restaurateur

OK, so Tom didn't win the James Beard Award for America's "Outstanding Restaurateur" (again) this year -- even if he did deserve it. Drew Nieporent of NYC's Myriad Restaurant Group took the medal away from him, and from contenders Keith McNally, Rich Melman and Stephen Starr. (Nieporent's crack as he took to the stage where Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich presented: "Who are these two skinny #@$-ing bastards?") But there's no question: as far as we here in the Northwest are concerned, Tom Douglas is an outstanding restaurateur, as you can plainly see from the photos below:
